Every month, it is our pleasure to choose a participant who embodies the values we teach at Helping Hoops, and this month’s Baller of the Month is especially deserving. Meet Nyidhal.
Nyidhal is 13 and has been participating in Helping Hoops Fitzroy for two years. Nyidhal is known amongst the kids at Fitzroy as a mentor to look up to and is praised for her determination and commitment each week. She accepts all challenges given to her by Coach Omar and gives every effort to be the best she can be.
Nyidhal says “Being a good example is important, not only to the younger kids, but to all the other kids around you because you can impact everyone in a really positive way. At times the older kids like us have to lead the younger kids and it really shows us a glimpse of the future.”
We’re also excited to have Nyidhal as part of Team Helping Hoops for the 24 Hour Charity Shootout! She will be showing off the skills she has learned at Helping Hoops by shooting as many free throws as she can in 15 minutes in the week leading up to the Shootout.
