Dear Helping Hoops community,
I wanted to provide an update on Helping Hoops’ response to the current situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19).
We have been monitoring the evolving nature of this Pandemic and want to acknowledge all the families and communities out there who have had to make hard decisions about their day to day welfare in the midst of such uncertainty.
At this time, all our programs will be cancelled this week (March 16-21). Cancelled program locations include; Fitzroy, Prahran, Broadmeadows, Croxton, Dandenong, Future Dandenong, Future (Footscray), Kensington, Richmond, North Melbourne, Werribee, Future Werribee, Power (Fitzroy).
This decision has been tough as we exist to support children and young people, especially during times of adversity. However, the wellbeing and safety of our kids, staff, volunteers and members of our extended communities takes precedence.
We will continue to provide updates as we receive more information on how mandated containment measures can impact Helping Hoops. We will provide program updates via our media channels so please continue to follow us to be notified of changes. We are also here to provide ongoing support and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to call us during business hours on: 1300 851 810 or email, info@helpinghoops.com.au
We will take guidance on necessary next steps from the principal authorities, mainly the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Victorian State Government (DHHS) and will continue to take steps to mitigate any risk to HH kids, volunteers, staff and the extended communities we serve.
We will provide updates by Sunday March 22. Let’s not forget the power of kindness and community during these uncertain times.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Helping Hoops.
Sincerely,
Clinton Meehan
Executive Director
