Helping Hoops Kids Put it All On the Line to Get to USA

By 28/12/2014News

Kaleb and Wally are two 17-year-old young men with a dream of one day using their basketball skills to provide a life for them and their families. Both Kaleb and Wally have been participants in our Helping Hoops Sunshine program for over 4 years, and we have seen them grow into great athletes and people.

Kaleb & Wally have recently been given an opportunity to attend school at Pacifica High School in California – the realisation of a dream for both players.

On Saturday, January 3rd, Kaleb and Wally braved 40-degree heat to shoot 10,000 points in 10 hours to prove their dedication and commitment to getting to the US, and to inspire you to donate to help them achieve their dream.

Helping Hoops volunteers were on hand to support the boys by counting shots, rebounding balls, and providing some well-earned drinks and food. Chase Basketball, who have supported Helping Hoops for a number of years, also stepping up big by kindly donating the use of the Albert Park College gym.

Please help Kaleb and Wally get to the US by making a tax deductible donation below. Donations can be made until 5pm on Wednesday, January 7.
