We were delighted to have the opportunity to take kids from three Helping Hoops programs to the Richmond Tigers game at Etihad Stadium on July 16 where we helped form a guard of honour for the players as they ran out onto the ground. The experience was a unique chance for the kids, with many attending their first ever game of footy.
Being up close to the players as they raced out in front of a cheering crowd was a special moment for us all, and something we will not soon forget.
For the record, the Tigers won the game.
Newsboys Foundation, which has been a backer of our programs for a number of years, was responsible for making the day possible, and we would like to thank Sandy for thinking of us. A big thanks also goes to Michael from the Tigers who was a gracious host and made us feel very welcome.
