We are proud to announce the Volunteer of the Month for May, 2016: Samuel Kwong. Sam is pictured here with the Larry O’Brien trophy when Helping Hoops was invited to join Patty Mills and Aron Baynes after their NBA Championship with the San Antonio Spurs. Sam is a lifelong Spurs fan too, it should be noted.
As well as regularly volunteering at Helping Hoops Richmond, Sam has worked tirelessly behind the scenes over the past two years through his video production work. Many of the great videos you see featured across the Helping Hoops website and social media are thanks to Sam.
Sam enjoys all facets of the programs: the hard work and dedication shown by the kids, the welcoming nature of the community, and the bond shared amongst everyone. The Helping Hoops Richmond program has become a weekly highlight in Sam’s schedule.
Sam says “It doesn’t matter what culture or community someone has been raised in or what race they are, it’s the values they possess and have been instilled with that tells more about who that person is.”
Thanks Sam. Helping Hoops is better with you on our team.
