We are pleased to present the 2013-14 Helping Hoops Annual Report, which highlights all the achievements of the charity over the past 12 months and is filled with great photography, quotes, insights, and stories from across our programs.

Helping Hoops Get Active is a free recreation & basketball program for asylum seekers of all abilities aged 18 to 26. [gallery columns="4" link="file" ids="2299,2300,2301,2302,2303,2304,2305,2306,2307,2308,2309,2310"]

We are pleased to announce our fourth, and latest, ambassador is Ben Shewry. Ben is not only the Head Chef and owner of the all-conquering Attica restaurant in Melbourne, he is also a huge hoops fan and someone who sets the benchmark for altruism and kindness.

Our basketball freestyle maestro Fume came down to Helping Hoops Fitzroy to amaze kids as only he knows how. [gallery columns="4" link="file" ids="2202,2203,2204,2205,2206,2207,2208,2209,2210,2211,2212,2213,2214,2215,2216,2217,2218,2219"]

Children and young people attending Helping Hoops programs may come from migrant or refugee backgrounds, living in inner-city public housing estates, have an intellectual disability or special needs, or may be socioeconomically disadvantaged in some way.
Helping Hoops aims to build self-esteem, provide a sense of belonging and community, aid social cohesion, instill discipline, develop goal setting and leadership skills, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
