The 2014 24 Hour Charity Shootout has wrapped up and has exceeded all expectations! Over 130 people joined Helping Hoops at Albert Park College to shoot as many free throws as they could in their 15 minutes.
Children and young people attending Helping Hoops programs may come from migrant or refugee backgrounds, living in inner-city public housing estates, have an intellectual disability or special needs, or may be socioeconomically disadvantaged in some way.
Helping Hoops aims to build self-esteem, provide a sense of belonging and community, aid social cohesion, instill discipline, develop goal setting and leadership skills, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
