Holiday Hoops at the North Melbourne Tournament

On September 25, we ran the first ever Helping Hoops North Melbourne Tournament for some very energetic and excited kids. The day started with a clinic and games with Coach Kevin, followed by a BBQ. Four coaches then drew to select players in a mini-draft before we headed into a double-elimination tournament.

Although the Red Team, coached by a proud Coach Steve, ultimately came out victorious and earned themselves each a trophy, everyone was a winner and enjoyed the chance to compete with and against their friends in the school holidays.

School holiday tournaments are a great reward-for-effort for children participating in our programs, and help bring our already strong community even closer. Thanks goes out to all the volunteers who made the day a success, all the kids who turned up and played games with fantastic sportsmanship, and the North Melbourne Community Centre which contributed the venue free of charge.
