For the first time in three years, Helping Hoops is opening up a paid coaching position.
We are seeking a basketball coach to join our team and deliver inclusive, participation-based programs to underprivileged children across Melbourne. The person we are seeking must be a positive member of their community with strong values and the desire to positively impact the lives of others. A Helping Hoops basketball coach must bring energy, enthusiasm, passion, patience and the ability to engage groups of around 15-25 children aged 7 to 15. A strong background in coaching junior basketball, particularly at the participation level (junior basketball camps or similar) is a must, with education or youth-work experience a plus.
Helping Hoops coaches are often the most important role model in the lives of the children that participate in our programs, so a recognition of the importance of the role, and a long-term commitment on an ongoing basis that reflects this, is essential.
In return for the above, the successful coach will enjoy a fulfilling and meaningful working environment in a team that is driven and supportive, with generous remuneration.
