Frantic Five Challenge a Huge Success

As part of the 24 Hour Charity Shootout on this weekend, we are proud to present the Frantic Five Challenge, which will see 8 stars paired together to compete in a free throw shooting competition.

Local business LeasePLUS has conducted a series of workplace giving initiatives to raise funds for Helping Hoops, and has successfully raised over $1,200. The events have included a lunch, a poker tournament and chocolate drive, and have been driven solely by the staff with support from management.

Nyawetch is 8 years old and participates in the Helping Hoops Fitzroy program on Mondays with Coach Omar and Coach Renee. She is known for her positivity, never-give-up attitude and willingness to help others.


Children and young people attending Helping Hoops programs may come from migrant or refugee backgrounds, living in inner-city public housing estates, have an intellectual disability or special needs, or may be socioeconomically disadvantaged in some way.
Helping Hoops aims to build self-esteem, provide a sense of belonging and community, aid social cohesion, instill discipline, develop goal setting and leadership skills, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
